Who We Are
H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem (Help Our People Eat) is a 501C3 nonprofit organization working at the intersection of children's health and food insecurity. We provide nutritious meals to children and fresh produce to parents and other adults that reside at or near one of our many distribution points here in Winston-Salem. We were founded in 2013 by a local couple, Judge Ben Tennille and Dr. Marty Tennille.
What We Do
H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children at risk of hunger and fresh produce to adults living in areas with limited access to fresh food right here in Winston-Salem. Our mission is to both improve health outcomes by providing access to nutritious food selections and to empower individuals and families to lead healthier lives. We intend to be a conduit where a better quality of calorie gets into the hands of children and adults that need it. We currently provide 1,000 meals to children and 2,500 pounds of fresh produce to families each weekend, year-round.
