The Mapping Prejudice in Forsyth County Project looks to uncover the hidden histories of racial discrimination in housing in our community. Through a combination of data science and crowdsourcing technologies, we are looking at old property records to find the use of racial covenants and deed restrictions, that were used to enforce patterns of residential segregation for several decades. By shining a light on these injustices, Mapping Prejudice in Forsyth County is hoping to create a more inclusive, just, and sustainable society for all.
Help us make, and map, history. Our team will walk you through the process step-by-step so that you can join community mapmakers contributing to this project from across Forsyth County.
