Noon - Lunch & Presentation Begin
The Lunch & Learn is an opportunity for anyone interested in forming a walk team to learn more about the Walk, hear about best practices, and get resources to promote the Walk within their community.
This year’s Walk will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, downtown Winston-Salem at Corpening Plaza. Walker check-in begins at 1:30 p.m. with the Walker kickoff at 2:30 p.m. The 46th annual Walk raises awareness about hunger in Forsyth County and around the world. The Walk raises funds to support Crisis Control Ministry and Sunnyside Ministry’s food pantries in addition to Church World Service. Seventy-five percent of the funds support the mission of Church World Service for programs to fight hunger and provide emergency aid to victims of disasters, wars, and famines in 31 countries, including the United States.
The 2024 Walk was the fourth-largest fundraising year for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County CROP Hunger Walk, with a total of $100,820.35raised to fight hunger. “With federal cuts to TEFAP and potential cuts to SNAP benefits as well as the increased need in food assistance, this year’s Walk is more important than ever,” said Abbey McCall, the Co-Chair of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County CROP Hunger Walk planning committee. “We hope you will join us as one community, one heart, walking to end hunger.”
