Direct support volunteers work as part of the interdisciplinary team in providing support and companionship to patients and/or families in individual’s home, long term care communities, hospital settings and/or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Tasks and opportunities include providing companionship to patients or respite for a family member as needed and as requested, including sitting with patients, reading, watching television/movies, conversing and being present with the patient/family to provide emotional support. May run errands or provide light household chores as needed and/or requested.
