We are seeking people with daytime, weekday availability and a passion for working with our Spanish speaking families. In this role, you work as a team with a Wish Specialist (Make-A-Wish staff) to determine a child’s wish ideas and capture all the important elements to give them a truly life transforming wish experience. You are also responsible for creating meaningful boosters for the child to accentuate the excitement of the wish!
Requirements for a volunteer role:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Weekday availability in addition, the ability to get to and from a centralized meeting location for Wish Discovery Visits with our wish families.
- Complete and submit volunteer paperwork.
- Complete a self-paid background check the cost is roughly $26 and are run once every three years 5. Complete our annual Conflict of Interest form (due every January)
- Attend a Wish Granter training either in-person or online.
- Pick Up a t-shirt at the Make-A-Wish Office to wear as you help grant wishes (or they can be shipped directly to you for a shipping fee of $5)
- Plan and deliver one booster per wish (i.e., care package, countdown calendar, send-off gift etc.)
