Stamp Out Hunger is an annual nationwide food drive conducted by the National Association of Letter (NALC) on the second Saturday in May. On this day, residents of Alamance County will be able to participate by filling a bag with donated food and setting it out by their mailbox. Letter carriers will collect non-perishable food donations on that day as they deliver mail along their postal routes. The food collected will be distributed throughout the community to those in need with the support of Harvesters.
This food drive is the MAIN source of summer donations for 5 area food banks who will be distributing the food collected:
Blessed Sacrament, Dream Align Ministries, Piedmont Rescue Missions, Southern Alamance Family Empowerment, and The Salvation Army.
Volunteers are needed for this event from 12:00PM-7:00PM; 3- hour shifts are also available! Assistance is needed with unloading, sorting, and organizing canned goods.
