The Guilford County Continuum of Care (CoC) is looking for Volunteers to help us during our Point In Time Count on the night of January 26, 2022. As a volunteer you will join our teams made up of the local Police Department, CoC and Agency staff, and other volunteers on their count of the unsheltered homeless population. Volunteers will be in the presence of Agency Staff or the Police department at all times.
The data we will collect is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for their annual statistics on Homelessness. This data is crucial to the work we do on the day to day within our community utilizing our resources and to understand how well we are reaching and serving the homeless population in Guilford County.
Key Requirements:
- 18+
- Must attend the required trainings that will take place in January
- Must have personal transportation to and from our starting location
- This is entirely outside (Volunteer may be subject to inclement weather like rain or snow.)
Time Commitment:
- Estimated Time Commitment up to 10-20hrs (this number may fluctuate)
- Will include the training(s), and actual PIT count night. (Dates of Trainings to be Determined)
- The actual night of the count will be roughly around the hours of 7pm to 2am. (Shifts will be scheduled)
