Due to the impact of COVID-19, many Americans are losing their jobs along with their health coverage as the economy shuts down. What many don't realize is that they may have options to enroll in coverage through the Affordable Care Act or Medicaid. That's where healthcare navigators step in.
Healthcare navigators are trained and federally certified to remotely assist individuals and families with exploring their coverage options, completing the online application for coverage, applying for financial help to pay for premiums, and choosing a health plan that fits their specific needs.
All of the training to become a healthcare navigator is online and can be completed at your own pace. For everyone's safety, we are conducting all enrollment appointments remotely until further notice.
If you find yourself with time on your hands and want to engage in a meaningful remote volunteer experience that will help save lives, consider volunteering as a healthcare navigator. Please note that a background check is required, but at no cost to the volunteer.
