ESR's Forsyth Free Tax program is searching for committed volunteers to help provide intake and prepare taxes for this upcoming tax season. No experience necessary. All training is provided, and the training certification is required. Volunteers are asked to volunteer between 5 and 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule at one of our 8 tax sites throughout Forsyth County. Tax preparation services are provided at no charge for people who meet the income guidelines. Volunteers are asked to prepare the taxes which will be checked by a tax expert, or they can help check people in as they arrive to have their taxes prepared.

Training time is contingent upon the role for which the volunteer plans to certify.

Volunteers should be certified by January 21 or 28 (this date is not confirmed until the IRS gives notice regarding acceptance of electronically-filed returns).

Volunteer training for January 2020 is being scheduled and the exact dates are currently TBD. Please email us for more information.

We are open to working with colleges to help students gain this valuable experience!
