Volunteer: SURGE LeaderVolunteer Title: SURGE Leader Major Objective of Project: To enable young people to experience and contribute to the Internship programmed activities which are fun, safe, social and educational (team building, developing self-confidence)
Volunteer Responsibilities: - To assist in the running of the High School program which has up to 25 young people and 3 staff. - To communicate with the youth coordinator and other volunteers about weekly programmed activities - To supervise teenage people and ensure general health & safety and rules of conduct - To build a rapport with teenage people and listen to their concerns - To facilitate and participate in games, activities and discussions with high school students - To assist with necessary programmed set-up and clean-up - To undertake required record keeping procedures including reporting verbally to supervisor and completing any relevant program forms Training: - To participate in support/information meetings and one to one supervision meetings - Attend relevant training courses/workshops
Time Commitment: 4 hours per week.
Location: Forsyth County Central Library Teen Area 2nd Floor
Days: Monday, Thursday
Supervision: Direct supervision will be given by the Intern Coordinator.
