Habitat Greensboro builds homes, communities, and hope and we invite volunteers to join on a home build site. 

Site build location is TBD, but will be in Greensboro. We will provide the exact location as we get closer to the day.

Volunteers will assist in a variety of different ways, projects could include, but not be limited to: helping with trail maintenance, putting in fence posts and fencing, staining or painting wood fencing, gates, or other areas, working in our gardens and nature areas, or helping in the barn with various cleaning and organizing projects.

HORSEPOWER’s mission is to promote and enhance the welfare of individuals with physical, intellectual, and/or emotional disabilities through a program of therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities using horses.

Volunteers will be participating in a build. Every Habitat for Humanity build is powered by the strengths of our community, your skills, your time and your generosity and the determination of future homeowners. Together we build stability, hop and stronger neighborhoods. By joining a build, you add your talents to a project that celebrates resilience, collaboration, and the shared vision that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.

Volunteers will assemble furniture for a foster family located in Thomasville, NC. This is a unique project for Home Sweet Hope, as this is the first time we are doing a room makeover for the foster parents. These parents have 5 young foster children in their care, with the youngest baby sleeping in the parents room. This family "won" this service at a foster parent retreat in Emerald Isle. Good foster parents often give so much of themselves in order to create a safe environment for the child in care to heal and thrive with their needs being put last. We will be using our skills and mission to give these parents a retreat that is not only calming and beautiful, but functional as well. furniture may consist of night stands, dresser, headboard, and other accessory items. They will be constructed in garage area of Sechrest Davis Funeral Home in Thomasville, NC

Home Sweet Hope's mission is providing custom room makeovers for youth experiencing foster care or adoption so they can continue to grow in thrive in space that promotes well-being and feels like "home".

Volunteer will assist BackPack Beginnings with assembling food bags that provide supplemental food for over 2,000 GCS students each week.

BackPack Beginnings mission is connecting children and their families to resources needed to thrive.

Volunteers will help prepare and box meals to go out to neighbors in need.

Second Harvest Food Bank's mission is, with our community and partners, we will increase food security and create pathways that build a stronger Northwest North Carolina.

Volunteers will help organize the fall programs specifically the YMCA Greensboro teen programs. This group will assist in summer program recovery, clearing out program closets, organizing program materials, sorting through new and used materials. We are also looking for individuals to assist in rehabilitating our outdoor space through litter pickup and weeding. There may be an additional opportunity for light touch up painting within our building.

The mission of the YMCA of Greensboro is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Volunteers will assist in a beautification project that will improve and enrich the community environment while fostering pride, connection, and well-being among our clients, families, and youth center students.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Since 1927, The Salvation Army of Alamance County has been a single point of entry for residents experiencing crisis. The faith-based nonprofit has provided supportive services to address basic needs such as food, shelter, childcare, employment, and clothing. The organization continues to remain committed to addressing specific barriers through its Food Pantry and Youth Development programs.

You will help refresh our outdoor dog kennels by shoveling and replacing gravel, keeping spaces clean, safe, and comfortable. You can help wash and sanitize toys so every animal has access to fun, healthy play. You can help tidy our grounds by pulling weeds, creating a welcoming environment for visitors and adopters. Donations are sorted with care, ensuring supplies get where they’re needed most. And with creativity and love, you can create enrichment toys for an engaging, stimulating experience for our animals. Each task you help with is a step toward happier, healthier pets and a stronger community connection.

At SPCA of the Triad, we save homeless animals and support the people who love them. As a private, limited-admission shelter, we provide compassionate care until each animal finds a forever home. Through rescue and caring, free and low-cost programs and services, and community engagement, we help pets and their people thrive together.
