WS Rescue Mission

Helping our hurting neighbors find hope and healing through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ. We offer recovery programs to men in need of life change. We feed and clothe individuals and families in need.

1.) Food Pantries: Our Client-Choice Food Pantry allows clients to take a shopping cart and pick and choose the food of their choice. This dignified manner allows a shopping experience without the cash register ringing at the end of their shopping! By providing free food of their choice, we know all the food they are choosing will be consumed, and is the most effective way of distributing food and minimizes waste.

2.) Clothing Ministry: The WS Rescue Mission clothing ministry provides thousands of articles of clothing each year to those in need. In addition to having their physical needs met, men, women and children are presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This ministry is made possible through the donations of gently used clothing and shoes and serves as a powerful outreach to the community. Client information is required in order to document and follow up on the many men, women and children that are served. Each client brings two identification cards, one of which has a current ID, a current utility bill or government letter that validates a proof of address. The homeless population is also served with clothing to assist them in their time of need. Required Client Information: Two identification cards, one of which must be a current picture ID.Proof of identity for each individual living in home (ex. social security card, birth certificate).

3.) Medical & Dental Clinic: The WS Rescue Mission is a host site of the Samaritan Medical Clinics and is located at 710 North Trade Street. A limited number of patients are seen on a “first-come-first-serve” basis. You have to wait in line at the door and can’t wait in your car or you could lose your place in line. We intend to treat individuals who cannot afford to pay for their healthcare and do not have health insurance. The Dental Clinic is able to serve a limited number of clients that are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Simple extractions only.

MEDICAL CLINIC - MONDAYS and THURSDAYS from 7:00am – 9:00am

DENTAL CLINIC - The 2nd and 4th THURSDAY of each month at 6:30am-8am2nd THURSDAY – Dentist only sees 5 patients . 4th THURSDAY – Dentist only sees 4 patients

4.) Thrift Store - Our store sells furniture, clothing, novelty items, mattresses/box springs and so much more! A portion of all sales go back into programs and daily operational costs. If you have items you would like to donate, you can call us to schedule a pick up or drop them off at our dock.

5.) Holiday Food Boxes : The WS Rescue Mission has given away thousands of Holiday Food Boxes over the past 30 years. The Holiday Food Box program allows many from the community to get a food box that feeds a family of 4 at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are thankful to our sponsors and individuals that help with this valuable program. Be on the lookout for messaging regarding the next holiday boxes.
