Spend Your Holiday Supporting Family Literacy!

Do you want to spend your holiday season creating meaningful experiences for young children and their families? Then join our team as a Child Classroom Assistant in Greensboro and/or High Point!    We are seeking passionate individuals interested in volunteering with us during the months of November and December (Nov. 20- Dec. 21).  As a Child Classroom Assistant, you will support the lead teacher, help children with their homework, and facilitate small-group activities. Here is a list of available shifts we have in Greensboro and High Point:   Mondays: 10am-1pm (27410) OR 4:30pm-7:30pm (27407) Tuesdays: 10am-1pm (27260) OR 4:30pm-7:30pm (27406) Wednesdays: 10am-1pm (27410) OR 4:30pm-7:30pm (27407) Thursdays: 10am-1pm (27260) OR 4:30pm-7:30pm (27406)   Orientation and training provided! Please click this link to fill out the interest form.   Our Family Literacy Program provides literacy support for families at Title I elementary schools and community centers in Guilford County during the school year. This program offers parents an opportunity to support their children’s literacy development while improving their own literacy skills at the same time. Centered on the belief that parents are their children’s first teachers, the program incorporates focused literacy instruction for parents and children, fostering both a habit and a love of reading among the families we serve.
