Winston-Salem Mixxer is a nonprofit community makerspace. Our business model is very similar to the YMCA. Members come here to access tools, workspaces, and a supportive community of makers. We also offer workshops to help people Make Stuff and Learn Stuff, as well as educational programming for students in grades 6 thru 12.
Mixxer has a developed a culture of cooperation and inclusion. We have opportunities for volunteers to engage with members, greet visitors, give tours of our facility, and help make people feel welcome during our public events. There are also special occasions of educational programming where additional moral support and someone to talk through processes can benefit students that need a little extra encouragement.
Volunteer Parking Attendants are needed at Mixxer for 2021 Industry Hill Block Party, a celebration of entrepreneurship and art.
Parking attendants will be responsible for helping guests park in Mixxer's parking lot and maximizing the use of all spaces; and directing guests from the parking lot to the entrances.
Age Requirement: 16+
Special Requirements: Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Shifts range from 1.5 hours to 2 hours.
