Description

Drivers are needed to transport disabled veterans living in Forsyth County to and from medical appointments.

  • You drive our vehicle; a valid North Carolina driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to the location of DAV vehicle
  • Hours usually 8:30-2:00
  • Prefer drivers who can commit to driving once a week, but even once a month would be helpful!

Volunteers must complete the onboarding process below:

  • Complete a DAV Volunteer Information Form
  • Successfully complete a background check with no felony convictions
  • Meet with DAV Transportation Coordinator for an explanation of the program and expectations
  • Pass a non-invasive physical at the Salisbury VA Facility
  • Attend a 3-hour volunteer training session at the Salisbury VA Facility (can do physical during session)
