The Art SHAC

Artist Jessica Tefft founded the Art SHAC in 2022 with a vision for Winston-Salem: a welcoming, inclusive place where the community could access affordable art supplies while honoring sustainable practices. What began in her basement grew through the shared passion of a small group of like-minded artists who came together to build the Second Hand Art Cooperative (Art SHAC). Since then, our community has continued to grow in beautiful and unexpected ways, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported, contributed to, and helped shape the organization into what it is today.

The Art SHAC is a place where people in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas can get affordable, gently used art materials. To provide these materials, we rely on community donations. We also offer classes creating upcycled art. The Art SHAC inspires creativity, sustainability, and community through our outreach.
